AquaFlow experiment

The AquaFlow experiment provides indoor flume mesocosms that are used to test for effects of stressor increase and reduction under highly controlled conditions.

It consists of a series of tanks combined with exchangeable channels. Each system is constructed as a circulatory system, comprising a series of tanks and channels simulating the riffle and pool sequence of streams. These systems allow for manipulation of water volumes, flow velocity, slope of the channels and water temperature.
